Vegan MOFO, How this kid gets her protein

Hello.

I am sorry for not posting like I should be.  The reason I have not been writing is that summer is coming to an end here in Oregon and I wanted to take advantage of the warm air and play outside with my friends before winter comes.  Also I realized I eat the same stuff and I can’t show you pictures of ramen everyday.  I’ve learned by keeping track of how much protein I ate that it is easy for a vegan kid to get enough protein.

I am going to keep blogging, but only if I eat something interesting.

Thank you reading!

Vegan MOFO, How this kid gets her protein

hello!    :)

Sorry that I did not post yesterday, Vegan MOFO has been hard (how do people write posts everyday?) .  Never mind about yesterday let’s talk about today.  Today I had  english muffin for breakfast, stir fry for lunch, and for dinner I had mac &  cheeze and for desert I had vanilla ice cream with home made raspberry syrup. For total of 38 grams of protein for the day.  I didn’t want to post a pic of the muffin or the mac & cheeze because they’re boring to look at.photo-311 photo-310

Vegan MOFO Day 9 & 10: How This Kid Gets Her Protein

Yesterday we took a road trip to the Oregon Coast and saw at least a dozen gray whales. It was awesome. The volunteer at the whale watching place said I found one they hadn’t seen before.

For food my mom packed a lot of snacks and we had a picnic lunch at Seal Rock beach. We had hummus, veggies, bread, vegan sushi, and vegan jerky. For dinner my dad made me a pasta dish that was baked with vegan cheese on top. Delicious! I had 27 grams of protein.

Today I was really tired after yesterday and was not hungry. I didn’t even want a soy milk which is weird. I finally ate a yogurt, pistachios, and some bread in the afternoon. For dinner we went out for vegan sushi and I ate more than both my parents. I had two avocado with cucumber rolls and edamame and cucumber salad. With my limited meals I had 33 grams of protein.  We kind of forgot to take pictures of our food today.

Vegan MOFO Day 8: How This Kid Gets Her Protein

Doing this everyday is way harder than I thought. Actually, getting my protein isn’t hard, it is just hard remembering to take pictures of all my food.

Yesterday my friend Indie and I went to Green Acres Farm Sanctuary to film more of our documentary. The owners are vegan and they served us a vegan lunch of Mac and Cheese and salad. For dinner my grandma had made burritos. For dessert I had a lime yogurt. I also snacked a lot yesterday. Not exactly sure of how much protein I ate because of the  food we didn’t make, but we are guessing right around 40 grams.

Last night I spent the night at my grandparents. I slept in late so I kind of had breakfast/lunch otherwise known as brunch. I brunch a lot! I ate frozen vegan french toast. Not as good as homemade but not bad either. I had it with fruit and chocolate hazelnut milk. I mostly snacked the rest of the day until I ate Mexican food for dinner again. I probably didn’t get all my protein today but not because I am vegan, but because I wasn’t in the mood to eat.

Thanks to the people at Vegan MOFO for giving me a shout out. You can read about it here.

Also Meshell in the City for telling people about my blog! Check it out here.

6th Day of Vegan Mofo: How this kid gets her protein

Hi!

Sorry about missing yesterday’s post.  I was being a 10 year old girl playing with my friends and forgot to write.  Today for breakfast I ate an English Muffin with homemade peach butter with 5 grams of protein.  For lunch I had a Tofurky sandwich on sour dough (my favorite) with 15 grams.  For dinner I had organic ramen with edamame and vegetables that also had 15 grams of protein.  My total protein intake of the day was 35 grams, more than I need.

Vegan MOFO Day 4: How This Kid Gets Her Protein

Hello!

Today was my first day of 5th grade. My mom tried to get a picture and I yawned. She loved it so much she wouldn’t take another one. She wanted me to post it and I gave in. This is the life of a home schooler.

My first day of 5th grade.

My first day of 5th grade.

Today was a weird food day. I woke up not hungry and had a glass of tea instead of breakfast. Come on, some days you aren’t hungry either. Then I went to my grandma’s, who lives around the corner and I helped her make my favorite veggie soup. Then I went to a tween vegan movie night at a friend’s house and munched on popcorn, cookies and grapes. When I got home it was late and my dad made me my favorite Ramen.

Today my protein count was a little lower compared to the past two days at 45 grams, but still way more than I need.

Here are my meals for the day:

Homemade veggie soup, strawberries, and bread 15 grams of protein

Good evening! My grandma took me for lunch and I had sweet and sour tofu. I had got all my protein in one meal. My piggy, Princess Astrid Porkbelly would be proud of how much I ate. For dinner my mom made my favorite forbidden rice. Have you ever had it?

I had a total of 61 grams of protein today. How many did you have?

Here is my grub for the day:
